Floor Amendment

Mr. Walsh of Peabody moves to amend the bill by striking out the first sentence and inserting in place thereof the following sentence: “The Massachusetts Department of Transportation Bridge number D05018 on Cedar street in the town of Dedham, shall be designated and known as the Honorable Kelly A. Timilty Memorial Bridge in recognition of Kelly A. Timilty.”.

And by inserting before the enacting clause the following emergency preamble:

“Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to provide forthwith for the naming of a certain bridge in the town of Dedham, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.”.
