Amendment #24 to H3770

Commuter Transit Benefits

Representatives Vitolo of Brookline and Owens of Watertown move to amend the bill by adding the following sections:

"SECTION XXXX: Section 3 of Chapter 62 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, is hereby amended, in subparagraph (15) of subsection (b), by striking the words “weekly or monthly transit commuter passes for Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority transit, bus, commuter rail or commuter boat” and inserting in its place the following words:- any bikeshare membership fee, Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority or regional transit authority fare

SECTION XXXX: Said section 3 of said chapter 62 is hereby amended, in subparagraph (15) of subsection (b), by striking the figure “$150” each time it appears and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- $50

SECTION XXXX. Said section 3 of said chapter 62 is hereby amended, in subparagraph (15) of subsection (b), by inserting, after the word “otherwise.”, the following sentence:- For purposes of this subsection, "fare" is defined as any payment for a single trip, multiple trips or unlimited trips in a set time period on public transit."
