Ms. Balser of Newton moves to amend the bill in Section 2, by inserting after line-item 4100-0060 the following item:

XXXX-XXXX For the Betsy Lehman Center for Patient Safety and Medical Error Reduction to implement foundational action steps to advance the goals of the Roadmap to Health Care Safety for Massachusetts, including to develop a statewide program of health care workforce safety education, to establish a pilot program to implement automated safety event detection and response in hospitals, to establish a pilot program to implement continuous improvement systems in outpatient office practices, and to establish a program to build capacity in Patient and Family Advisory Councils to support safety improvement in hospitals and accountable care organizations…….. $3,500,000
