The Literacy Lab

Mr. González of Springfield moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 7010-0033, by inserting after the words “HILL for Literacy”, the following: “; provided further, that not less than $350,000 shall be expended for The Literacy Lab, an AmeriCorps-affiliated education nonprofit, for the purposes of providing evidence-based literacy intervention services to students between Pre-k and Grade 3 in the Greater Springfield and Western Massachusetts areas who are at risk for grade-level reading failure”; and in said item by striking out the figures “$5,666,731” and inserting in place thereof the following figures: “$6,016,731”
