DCF Kids in Crisis Amendment

Mr. Donato of Medford moves to amend the bill, Section 2, In line item 4800-0041, by adding at the end thereof the following:

 

provided further that the department of children and families in conjunction with congregate care providers, the department of mental health and by consulting with the department of youth services for its expertise in its evidence based programs shall within 90 days of this act establish a minimum of four pilot regional programs that will accommodate youth that are in DCF care, experiencing an intensive behavioral or behavioral and medical crisis and who are being housed in emergency departments or inpatient units and who cannot safely receive treatment in the existing congregate programs. The department shall report to the Committee on Children and Families within 60 days of the passage on the of this act an updated report on the details of such units and report to the same by April 1,2024 the numbers of children in its care that have used this new program;

 

and in line item 4800-0041 by deleting 431,019,785 and inserting in place 443,019,785
