Amendment #219 to H3900

Reentry Workforce Development

Mr. Cutler of Pembroke moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 7003-0150, in line 5, by inserting after “job training for formerly incarcerated individuals” the following: “within one year of their period

of incarceration”; and in said item, in line 8, by inserting after “court-involved youths” the following: “; provided further that partnership programs may include costs for support services including, but not limited to, transportation and childcare, to eliminate barriers to participation; provided further, that that the executive office of labor and workforce development shall take all necessary steps to secure private sector funding for this program; and provided further, that the department shall conduct an annual public education campaign to inform justice-involved individuals, houses of correction, and potential and actual employer partners about the availability of services under this program, the location and funding of services under this program, and any admission requirements for services under this program”; and in said item, in line 18, by inserting after “ways and means” the following: “and the joint committee on labor and workforce development”; and in said item by striking out the figures “$4,750,000” and inserting in place thereof the figures “$5,250,000”.
