Amendment #813 to H3900

Coalition for Homeless Individuals

Mr. Chan of Quincy moves to amend the bill in section 2 by striking out item 7004-0109 and inserting in place thereof the following item:

“7004-0109 For the shelter workforce development initiative, to provide pathways to careers in fields related to housing and homelessness; provided, that funds shall be expended to address barriers to obtaining and sustaining shelter employment including, but not limited to, transportation, loan repayment, tuition or certification fee reimbursement, and child care; provided that, not less than $5,000,000 be made available to providers contracted through item 7004-0101; provided further, that not less than $5,000,000 be made available to providers contracted through item 7004- 0102; provided, that funds shall be available for staff employed in both direct service and housing assistance roles within eligible shelters; and provided further, that the secretary of the executive office of housing and economic development shall submit a report to the joint committee on housing and the house and senate committees on ways and means not later than March 1, 2024, detailing the expenditures and hiring outcomes of the program ........................................................................ $10,000,000”
