Amendment #39 to H4135

Disposal of Firearms

Representatives Jones of North Reading, Ferguson of Holden, Gifford of Wareham, Frost of Auburn, Barrows of Mansfield and Smola of Warren move to amend the bill in section 44, in subsection (c), by striking lines 924 through 927, inclusive, and inserting in place thereof the following subsection:

"(c) Firearms and ammunition not disposed of within 1 year of delivery or surrender pursuant to this section shall be destroyed by the colonel of the state police or the local licensing authority in accordance with the rules and regulations promulgated by the executive office of public safety."
