Mitigation Funding for Berkshire, Franklin and Hampshire Counties Disaster Relief

Mr. Barrett of North Adams moves to amend the bill moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 1599-2302,  line 24 by striking out the figures “$10,000,000” and inserting in place thereof the figures “$35,000,000”; and in section 72, in item 1599-2302, line 750 by striking out the figures “$10,000,000” and inserting in place thereof the figures “$35,000,000”; and further amends the bill in section 72, in item 1599-2302, in line 751, after the words “natural disasters”, by inserting the words “provided that, no less than $25,000,000 shall be appropriated for impacts of the storms of July 9 to July 10, 2023, inclusive, July 16, 2023, and July 21, 2023, in the counties of Berkshire, Franklin, and Hampshire for qualifying expenses otherwise insufficient to receive federal disaster relief; provided, that not less than 15 days in advance of distribution, the secretary of administration and finance shall file a distribution plan along with a detailed description of the qualifying expenses for which municipalities will be reimbursed with the house and senate committees on ways and means.”
