Adding Efficiency to Paid Family and Medical Leave

Mr. Gordon of Bedford moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:

SECTION XXXX. Subsection (b) of section 7 of chapter 175M of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out the first sentence and inserting in place thereof the following sentence:- The costs of administering the department under this chapter shall be paid from the trust fund and in each fiscal year shall not exceed 5 per cent of the amount remaining in the fund at the end of the previous fiscal year; provided that, regardless of the trust fund balance at the end of a fiscal year, in no fiscal year shall the amount available to the director for administering the department decrease by more than 5 per cent from the previous year.
