Rural School Aid Formula

Ms. Blais of Deerfield moves to amend the bill in Section 2, in item 7061-9813, in line 6, by striking "annual", and inserting after "income" the following: "over the preceding 3 years" and further moves to amend the item, in line 11, by inserting after "mile" the following: "provided further, that a school district that received aid under this item in the previous year and becomes ineligible for aid due to an increase in student density or average per capita income shall receive not less than the amount of the aid the school district received in the previous year for the year in which the district becomes ineligible;" and further moves to amend the item, in line 18, by inserting after "fiscal year 2026" the following: "; provided that, school districts may establish a rural school aid fund for which reimbursements made by the Commonwealth pursuant to this section may be deposited into and may carry forward for 1 fiscal year"
