Amendment #1076 to H4600

Incarceration Trauma Study

Ms. Uyterhoeven of Somerville moves to amend the bill in section 2, line item 8100-0112 by inserting the following: "; provided further, that not less than $75,000 shall be expended for the Racism-based Violence Injury and Prevention Lab at Boston College for the purpose of conducting a study to explore, document and understand the impact of early life trauma on those incarcerated in the Commonwealth for violent offenses. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the department of corrections shall permit investigators funded in this line item access to inmates in Massachusetts correctional facilities for the purpose of completing this study"
