Amendment #1237 to H4600

Foundation Inflation Index

Ms. Ferguson of Holden moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:-

“SECTION XX. Section 2 of chapter 70 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking the definition of “Foundation inflation index” in lines 93-96, inclusive, and inserting in place thereof the following definition:

“Foundation inflation index”, the lesser of: (i) the 3 year average of the value of the implicit price deflator (IPD) for state and local government purchases in the third quarter of the prior fiscal year divided by the IPD in the third quarter of the previous fiscal year; and (ii) 1.045.”
