Amendment #1396 to H4600

Electric Vehicles

Mr. Frost of Auburn moves to amend the bill by adding the following sections:

“SECTION XXXX. Chapter 179 of the acts of 2022, as amended by chapter 268 of the acts of 2022, is hereby further amended by striking out section 46.

SECTION XXXX. Subsection (a) of section 81 of said chapter 179 is hereby amended by striking out the words: ‘(iii) cessation, by December 31, 2035, of in-state sales of non-zero-emission vehicles; and (iv) advancement of access to, and affordability of, electric vehicle charging and fueling,’ and inserting in place thereof the following words:- and (iii) advancement of access to, and affordability of, electric vehicle charging and fueling.

SECTION XXXX. Said chapter 179, as so amended, is hereby further amended by striking out section 96.

SECTION XXXX. The department of environmental protection shall update its vehicle emission regulations, pursuant to section 142A of chapter 111 of the General Laws, so that the commonwealth is not bound to another state in its regulations.”
