Amendment #1414 to H4600

For-Profit Hospital Rent

Mr. Markey of Dartmouth moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:

Section XXXX. Section 51 of chapter 111 of the Genera Laws, as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:

No original license shall be issued nor shall a license be renewed hereunder to any applicant that is a for-profit corporation, or any applicant that has a relationship with a for-profit corporation that reflects, directly or indirectly, a partial or complete controlling interest or partial or complete common control, unless such applicant submits to the department a signed attestation that certifies that the applicant will not enter, or licensee has not entered, into any agreement for the payment of rent in excess of $18 per square foot.
