Amendment #663 to H4600

Resettlement Agencies

Representatives Jones of North Reading, Ferguson of Holden, Frost of Auburn, Gifford of Wareham, Barrows of Mansfield and Smola of Warren move to amend the bill by adding the following section:-

“SECTION X. Chapter 6 of the Massachusetts General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after Section 208A the following section:-

Section 208B. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, no resettlement agency under the Office of Refugees and Immigrants shall undertake resettlement activity or the facilitation of transporting new migrants to Massachusetts if the state shelter system will exceed capacity.”
