Amendment #668 to H4600

Representatives Jones of North Reading, Ferguson of Holden, Frost of Auburn, Gifford of Wareham, Barrows of Mansfield and Smola of Warren move to amend the bill by adding the following sections:-

“SECTION XX. Section 7 of chapter 81 of the acts of 2022 is hereby amended in paragraph (a) by striking out the words “nor be disclosed by the registrar” and the words “and be used solely for the purpose of motor vehicle insurance”

SECTION XX. Section 7 of chapter 81, as so appearing, is hereby amended in paragraph (b) by striking out the words “nor be disclosed by the registrar” and the words “and be used solely for the purpose of motor vehicle insurance”

SECTION XX. Section 7 of chapter 81, as so appearing, is hereby amended by adding the following new subsection:-

(c) Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, information provided by an applicant for a Massachusetts license under section 8 of chapter 90 of the General Laws or a learner’s permit under section 8B of said chapter 90, who fails to provide proof of lawful presence as defined in section 1 of said chapter 90, including, but not limited to, personally identifying information, shall be maintained by the registry of motor vehicles.”
