Amendment #673 to H4600

Local Room Excise

Representatives Jones of North Reading, Ferguson of Holden, Frost of Auburn, Gifford of Wareham, Barrows of Mansfield and Smola of Warren move to amend the bill by adding the following section:-

“SECTION XX. Section 30 of chapter 23B of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting at the end thereof the following sentence:- Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, a city or town that has accepted section 3A of chapter 64G of the General Laws shall be provided a quarterly estimate of excise tax collections for any hotel or motel, within said city or town, under contract to provide emergency housing assistance to individuals receiving benefits under this section for which such excise tax is not paid. “
