Amendment #732 to H4600

MBTA Communities Act - Extension of Compliance Deadline

Representatives Jones of North Reading, Ferguson of Holden, Frost of Auburn, Gifford of Wareham, Barrows of Mansfield and Smola of Warren move to amend the bill by adding the following sections:-

“SECTION AA. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities shall provide all MBTA communities, as defined by Section 1 A of Chapter 40A of the General Laws, subject to Section 3A of said Chapter 40A, a minimum of an additional 12 months from the current deadline for submitting a compliance application to said office, as determined by the category in which the community is classified, to meet the requirements set forth by said Section 3A. The Secretary of the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities shall provide written to notice to all MBTA communities to notify them of this 12 -month extension period.

SECTION BB. Section AA shall take effect immediately upon the passage of this act.”
