Amendment #179 to H4707

Dredging The Ten Mile River for Flood Prevention and Preservation of Homes

Mr. Scanlon of North Attleborough moves to amend the bill in Section 2, in item 7004-0074, by adding, after the word “plan” in line 360, the following:-

“provided further, that not less than $19,725,000 shall be expended for the project of dredging the Ten Mile River”; and in said item by striking out, in line 360, the sum “$2,000,000,000” and inserting in place thereof “$2,019,725,000”;

and by adding the following section:

"SECTION XXXX.   (a) Item 1100-2516 of Section 2 of Chapter 140 of the Acts of 2022 is hereby amended by striking out the words, in lines 219 to 221, “not less than $150,000 shall be expended for the construction of a playground at Amvet Boulevard elementary school in the town of North Attleborough” and inserting in place thereof the following words: “not less than $150,000 shall be expended for the project of dredging the Ten Mile River”;

(b) Item 1100-2516 of Section 2 of Chapter 140 of the Acts of 2022 is hereby amended by striking out the words, in lines 221 to 223, “not less than $125,000 shall be expended for ADA compliant accessibility upgrades to the Mason Field House in the town of North Attleborough” and inserting in place thereof the following words: “not less than $125,000 shall be expended for the project of dredging the Ten Mile River”.
