Mr. Elliott of Lowell moves to amend the bill n section 8, in lines 1067 to 1069, inclusive, by striking out the words “No zoning ordinance or by-law shall prohibit, unreasonably restrict or require a special permit or other discretionary zoning approval for the use of land or structures for an accessory dwelling unit, or the rental thereof, in a single-family residential zoning district” and inserting in place thereof the words “Upon acceptance by a city or town pursuant to section 4 of chapter 4, no zoning ordinance or by-law shall prohibit, unreasonably restrict or require a special permit or other discretionary zoning approval for the use of land or structures for an accessory dwelling unit, or the rental thereof, in a single-family residential zoning district”.
