Amendment #486 to H4789

Building Southeastern Massachusetts' Climate Future

Mr. Fernandes of Falmouth moves to amend the bill in section 1, in item 7002-8066, by adding the following: "; provided further, that not less than $50,000,000 shall be expended to the Massachusetts clean energy technology center for the development, planning, and establishment of a climate technology hub in southeastern Massachusetts whose purpose shall be: (i) to promote and develop jobs in the clean energy and blue economy sectors within southeastern Massachusetts; (ii) to promote research and workforce training in clean energy and the blue economy; (iii) to stimulate the creation and development of new clean energy and blue economy ventures that will help to combat climate change, biodiversity decline, and other environmental challenges; (iv) to provide support to existing clean energy and ocean technology companies in southeastern Massachusetts to expand their operations.”
