Amendment #79 to H4789

Providing an Opportunity for Policyholders to Address Non-Renewal of Homeowner Insurance

Mr. Walsh of Peabody moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:

“Section XXX

Section 4C of Chapter 175 of the Massachusetts General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 official edition, is hereby amended by adding the following subsection at the end thereof:

(b) Upon receipt of notice of non-renewal of insurance policy, the named insured shall have 90 days to fulfill the requirements for the continuance of coverage contained within the said receipt.”
