Refugee Resettlement
Ms. Balser of Newton moves to amend the bill in Section 2, in line 33, by inserting after the word "services" the following line-item:
Office for Refugees and Immigrants
4003-0123 For the resettlement agencies in the commonwealth that contract with the United States Department of State to resettle refugees and immigrants to provide services and support to federally designated refugees admitted through the Reception and Placement Program provided that, at the discretion of the agency, not less than 75 per cent of the funds may be expended on direct assistance to refugees and immigrants, including, but not limited to, assistance securing immigration status in the United States, and not more than 25 per cent of the funds may be expended to support the infrastructure of the resettlement agencies on a pro-rata basis; ............ $2,500,000
