Amendment #9 to H4891

Health and Wellness Medication Coverage

Mr. Soter of Bellingham moves to amend the amendment in section 27, by striking out subsection (b) and inserting in place thereof the following subsection:

 

"(b) The commission shall identify 1 generic drug and 1 brand name drug used to treat each of the following chronic conditions: (i) diabetes, (ii) asthma, (iii) obesity, and (iv) the most prevalent heart condition among its members."

 

And in section 29, by striking out subsection (b) and inserting in place thereof the following subsection:

 

"(b) The commission shall identify 1 generic drug and 1 brand name drug used to treat each of the following chronic conditions: (i) diabetes, (ii) asthma, (iii) obesity, and (iv) the most prevalent heart condition among its members."

 

And in section 30, by striking out subsection (b) and inserting in place thereof the following subsection:

 

"(b) Any policy, contract, agreement, plan or certificate of insurance issued, delivered or renewed within the commonwealth, which is considered credible coverage under section 1 of chapter 111M, shall identify 1 generic drug and 1 brand name drug used to treat each of the following chronic conditions: (i) diabetes; (ii) asthma; (iii) obesity; and (iv) the most prevalent heart condition among its enrollees."

 

And in section 34, by striking out subsection (b) and inserting in place thereof the following subsection:

 

"(b) An individual group health maintenance contract that is issued or renewed within or without the commonwealth shall identify 1 generic drug and 1 brand name drug used to treat each of the following chronic conditions: (i) diabetes; (ii) asthma; (iii) obesity; and (iv) the most prevalent heart condition among its enrollees."
