An Act relative to retirement benefits.

 

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purposes, which are to authorize certain retirement benefits, therefore it is immediately necessary to carry out the important public purposes, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding sections 65C and 65D of chapter 32 of the General Laws, or any other general or special law to the contrary, Mary McCabe, associate justice of the Haverhill district court, may name her daughter Anna McCabe as her survivor beneficiary, in lieu of a spouse.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect as of October 29, 2023.
