Weight loss Medication and Preventative Care

Mr. Oliveira and Ms. Edwards move that the proposed new draft be amended by inserting after section 64 the following section:-

“SECTION 64A. The department shall compile a report detailing the effectiveness, safety and long-term public health impacts of weight loss medication for preventative care including, but not limited to: (i) heart conditions; (ii) stroke; (iii) asthma; and (iv) diabetes. The report shall be submitted to the clerks of the senate and house of representatives, the house and senate committees on ways and means and the joint committee on health care financing not later than July 1, 2025.”
