Collection of Local Option Hotel Excise Tax by Cities and Towns

Messrs. Moore, Keenan and Tarr move that the proposed new text be amended by inserting after section __ the following section:- 

SECTION __. Section 30 of chapter 23B of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting at the end thereof the following sentence:- Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, a city or town that has accepted section 3A of chapter 64G of the general laws shall be entitled to collect such excise tax for any hotel or motel, within said city or town, under contract to provide emergency housing assistance to individuals receiving benefits under this section.
