Storage Procurement Target

Messrs. Pacheco, Brady and Tarr move that the proposed new draft be amended in section 21, by inserting after the words “a description of the” in line 278, the following words:- “combination of”; and

in said section 21, by inserting after the word “needs” in line 279, the following words:- “and energy services needs”; and

in said section 21, by inserting after the words “Chapter 21N” in line 280, the following words:- “at least cost”; and

in section 102, by striking out, in line 2082, the word “July 31, 2026” and inserting the place thereof the following words:-  “June 30, 2025.  The first resource solicitation plan required under subsection (c) of section 21 of chapter 25A of the General Laws shall schedule solicitations over three years for at least 115,000 MWh of energy storage from new energy storage resources, at least 75 percent of which must be awarded on a basis that prioritizes low cost of stored energy per megawatt-hour.”
