Redraft Amendment 5

Solar Recycling

Ms. Comerford and Messrs. Cronin and Tarr move that the proposed new draft be amended by adding the following section:-

“SECTION XX. The department of environmental protection, in consultation with the department of energy resources and the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center shall develop a comprehensive plan for the recycling and reuse of photovoltaic solar panels and associated materials, including supports, electronic components, and other associated infrastructure. The department of environmental protection shall file its findings and recommendations, including recommendations for regulations and legislation, with the clerks of the house and senate and the joint committee on telecommunications, utilities and energy no later than December 31, 2024.”
