Municipal Indemnity

Mr. Cyr moves that the proposed new draft be amended by adding the following section:-

"SECTION XX. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the commonwealth shall indemnify and hold harmless a municipality that has entered into a host community agreement with an offshore wind company as defined under section 1 of chapter 23J of the General Laws for costs arising from an emergency mitigation response action in the event of the release of hazardous materials from the physical components of large-scale electric generating projects constructed, developed or operated by said offshore wind company."
