Requiring Community Meetings

Messrs. Moore, Tarr and Montigny move that the proposed new text be amended in section 5, in line 92, by inserting after the word "program." the following two sentences:-

"Not less than 30 days prior to the board of health’s approval of a program that will provide overdose

reversal care and supervision of persons who consume pre-obtained substances, the board of health, in conjunction with the select board or city council, shall hold an in person community meeting in proximity to the potential site; provided that the board of health shall also provide the ability for members of the public to view the meeting remotely via the internet.

The board of health shall post notice of the community meeting at least seven days prior to the community meeting. The meeting notice shall include, but is not limited to, the proposed location of the site, the operator, its hours of operation, an explanation on why the location is under consideration and what services will be performed at the site, any expected impacts on the surrounding area and planned measures to mitigate said impacts."
