Recovery and Expungement Expansion

Ms. Edwards moved that the proposed new text be amended in section 2, in item 8000-0313, by adding the following words:- “; provided further, that not less than $50,000 shall be expended for Big Hope Project, Inc. to reduce recidivism through record expungement, workforce education and to conduct outreach for the Massachusetts Social Equity Program for the purposes of increasing opportunities for social equity in the cannabis industry for underrepresented communities in the city of Boston; provided further, that not less than $20,000 shall be expended for Community Against Substance Abuse, Inc. to support substance use treatment programs in the town of Winthrop”; and by striking out the figure “$100,000” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- “$170,000”.
