Ms. Edwards, Messrs. Feeney, Keenan, Eldridge and Gomez, Ms. Jehlen and Messrs. O'Connor, Timilty and Brady moved that the proposed new text be amended in section 2, by adding the following line item:-

"7004-0109 provided further, that not less than $10,000,000 be allocated for the shelter workforce development initiative, to provide pathways to careers in fields related to housing and homelessness; provided, that funds shall be expended to address barriers to obtaining and sustaining shelter employment including, but not limited to, transportation, loan repayment, tuition or certification fee reimbursement, and child care; provided further, that, not less than $5,000,000 be made available to shelters contracted through item 7004-0101; provided further, that not less than $5,000,000 be made available to shelters contracted through item 7004- 0102; and provided further, that the secretary of housing and livable communities shall submit a report to the joint committee on housing and the house and senate committees on ways and means not later than March 3, 2025, detailing the expenditures and hiring outcomes of the program.......................................... $10,000,000”.
