Early Educator Recruitment and Retention

Messrs. Oliveira, Cronin and Gomez, Ms. Kennedy and Messrs. Moore, Mark, Collins, Kennedy, Crighton, Payano and O'Connor moved that the proposed new text be amended in section 2F, in item 1596-2435, by striking out the words “; provided further, that educators working in early education, out of school time and residential facilities licensed by the department may be eligible for prioritization pursuant to department policies”, and inserting in place thereof the following words:- “; provided further, that not less than $8,000,000 shall be expended for grants to early education and care providers for costs associated with personal childcare”.
