Health Care Cost Growth Benchmark and Preservation of Hospital Essential Services

Mr. Cusack of Braintree moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:-

SECTION X. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, section 10 of chapter 6D of the Massachusetts General Laws shall be waived for all hospitals in each year that the statewide median operating margin for hospitals is negative, as reported by the center for health information and analysis under section 8 of chapter 12C, in order to preserve essential services and access to patient care across the commonwealth.
