Vocational Practical Nursing Programs

Mr. Barrett of North Adams moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 7035-0001, in line 6, by inserting after "admission" the following: "provided further, that not less than 4,000,000 shall be expended for a grant program to be administered by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to support tuition assistance for students enrolled in postsecondary vocational practical nursing programs approved by the Board of Registration in Nursing; provided the Department shall reimburse each eligible program on an equal per student basis of not less than $5,000 per student for each enrolled student as of October 1st of the 2025-2026 school year"; and in said item by striking out the figures "3,118,500" and inserting in place thereof the figures "7,118,500".
