Amendment #1319 to H4000
Body Worn Camera Administration Commission
Mr. Markey of Dartmouth moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:
“SECTION XXXX. Notwithstanding any general or special laws to the contrary, there shall be established a commission called the Body Worn Camera Administration Commission, hereinafter referred to as the commission, which shall provide recommendations to the General Court and the Trial Court on how to store, secure, distribute, and fund a system to comply with Rue 14 of the Massachusetts Rules of Criminal Procedure, in an efficient manner, as it relates to Body Worn Camera Recordings.
The commission shall be made up of 6 members: 1 member of the Senate, whom shall be appointed by the Senate President; 1 member of the House of Representatives, whom shall be appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives; 1 member representing the Executive Office of Tech Services and Security, whom shall be appointed by the Secretary of the Executive Office of Tech Services and Security; 1 member representing the Massachusetts Trail Court, whom shall be appointed by the Chief Justice of the Massachusetts District Court; 1 member representing the Massachusetts District Attorney’s Association, whom shall be appointed by the Massachusetts District Attorney’s Association; 1 member representing the Massachusetts Committee for Public Counsel Services, whom shall be appointed by the Massachusetts Committee for Public Counsel Services.”
