Amendment #1370 to H4000

Ms. Fiola of Fall River moves to amend the bill in section 2 by inserting after item 7008-0901 the following item:

“7008-0901 For the administration of a 5 year pilot competitive grant program to entice and promote isolated major sporting entertainment events, provided that the office shall seek, accept and evaluate grant applications and that priority shall be given to applications based upon expected return-on-investment, and those which clearly identify direct and indirect economic impacts of the tourism industry in the commonwealth and help promote the commonwealth in national and international media; provided further, that grants shall be awarded in a manner that promotes geographic equity; and provided further, that any portion of funds deposited for this 5 year competitive pilot grant program shall be available to the office for the purposes described herein, without further appropriation, and all available monies in the fund that are unexpended at the end of fiscal years 2025 through 2029 shall not revert to the General Fund and shall be made available for expenditure in the subsequent fiscal year.
