Mental Health Crisis Response for Malden Police Department

Representatives Ultrino of Malden and Donato of Medford move to amend the bill in section 2, in line item 5046-0000, by adding the following:-

“provided further, that no less than $50,000 shall be expended to the Malden Police Department to support mental health emergency crisis response in Malden; including, but not limited to, funding for a mental health clinician, trainings for officers in de-escalation, negotiation, Integrating Communications, Assessment, and Tactics (ICAT), and other non-lethal response techniques and additional resources.”
