Amendment #926 to H4000

Tree Work License

Mr. Howitt of Seekonk moves to amend the bill by inserting the following section:-

“Section X. Chapter 21 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after section 67 the following new section:

Section 68. The Department of Conservation and Recreation, as defined in Section 1, shall promulgate rules and regulations regarding the licensing of tree service companies, contractors, and the employees of such who perform tree-related work within the Commonwealth.

For the purposes of this section, a “tree service company” or “contractor” shall mean any company or individual engaged in the pruning or removal of trees, limbs, or stumps, including stump grinding, as well as those performing tree or limb guying. Such rules and regulations as required by this section shall be promulgated and take effect no later than one year after the passage of this act.”
