Amendment #60 to H4601

Enhanced Inmate Phone Calls Transparency

Representatives Jones of North Reading, Ferguson of Holden, Frost of Auburn, Muradian of Grafton, Vieira of Falmouth and Smola of Warren move to amend the bill in section 67 by striking, in lines 1958 through 1960, inclusive, the words “and (v) recommendations to ensure compliance with said chapter 29, if necessary, among sheriffs’ offices” and inserting in place thereof the following:-

“(v) recommendations to ensure compliance with said chapter 29, if necessary, among sheriffs’ offices; and (vi) a review of the utilization and increased costs associated with providing communication services to incarcerated individuals pursuant to the provisions of chapter 64 of the acts of 2023 and any recommendations for changes”
