Veteran related training requirement

Ms. Arriaga of Chicopee moves to amend the bill, as amended, In Section 18, in line 345, by inserting after "Commonwealth;" the following: and shall partner with the Department of Veterans’ Services and the Office of the Child Advocate, to develop and implement mandatory annual training for all child welfare staff, including caseworkers, supervisors, investigators, and relevant administrative personnel. Such training shall include, but not be limited to:

(1) Military and veteran family culture and dynamics;

(2) The effects of combat trauma, PTSD, military sexual trauma (MST), and moral injury on parenting and family functioning;

(3) Effective strategies for engagement with veteran parents and children;

(4) Coordination with veteran-specific service providers and benefits systems."
