Amendment #16 to H4644

Assistance for Adoptees Needing a Real ID

Mr. González of Springfield moves to amend the bill, as amended, by adding the following section:

SECTION XX.

Section 10 of Chapter 18B of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2024 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “office”, the first time it appears, the following:-

“Said legal counsel shall support Massachusetts adopted children having trouble obtaining documentation to secure a Real ID. Such documentation shall include, but not be limited to, an original birth certificate, post-adoption certificate, and final adoption certificate. This shall include those who have been adopted in Massachusetts within the last forty years, and those born in Puerto Rico and adopted in Massachusetts.”
