Amendment #4 to H4672
Ensuring High-Quality Instruction to Meet the Needs of Every Learner
Ms. Montaño of Boston moves to amend the bill in section 2, line 20, by striking the words “reviewed and approved by the department” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- “that aligns with evidence-based literacy instruction and the five-research-based areas in reading instruction”;
and further moves to amend the bill, in said section 2, in line 22, by inserting after the word “shall” the following word:- “solely”;
and further moves to amend the bill, in said section 2, in line 28, by inserting after the word “instruction.” the following sentence:- “Districts shall annually report to the department on the curricula they have selected to meet the curriculum frameworks for kindergarten through grade 3 literacy, including how it meets the definition of high-quality curriculum.”;
and further moves to amend the bill, in said section 2, in lines 29 through 58, by striking subsections (d) and (e).
