Amendment #10 to H4750

Norwood Hospital Eminent Domain Acquisition

Mr. Rogers of Norwood moves to amend the bill by inserting after section 2B the following section:

"SECTION 2C.

(a) The University of Massachusetts Medical School is authorized to acquire by eminent domain, under chapter 79 of the General Laws, the property known as the Norwood Hospital in the town of Norwood.

(b) The University of Massachusetts Building Authority is authorized and directed to borrow and undertake any construction or related work necessary to restore and develop facilities on said property.

(c) The University of Massachusetts Building Authority may enter into lease agreements or other contractual arrangements with qualified health care providers for the use and operation of the restored property."
