Massachusetts AED Communities Fund
Mr. Frost of Auburn moves to amend the amendment by adding the following section:
SECTION XXXX. Subject to appropriation, a Massachusetts AED Communities Fund shall be established to help cities and towns pay for automated external defibrillator devices, as well as any necessary equipment and infrastructure to properly hold and charge such devices, pursuant to the requirements of this act and the regulations promulgated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. The fund shall be overseen and operated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and may receive funds from appropriations of the state legislature, public, private and non-profit grants, internal transfers from within the Department of Public Health’s budget, federal funds, grants and appropriations, and private donations from individuals and businesses. The AED Communities Fund shall award funding to communities in the Commonwealth to help them meet the requirements to place such devices at all required facilities and fields.
