Budget Billing Consumer Protection

Mr. Vitolo of Brookline moves to amend the bill by inserting after section 41 subsection (d) the following subsection:

“(e) The department shall require that budget billing customers be notified whenever their gas consumption for a billing month is substantially greater than the billing month immediately prior. The notification shall include the gas consumption in each of the prior two billing months, appropriate recommendations for gas conservation, and anything else deemed appropriate by the department.”
