Amendment #1220 to H5500

Allowing Registered Dental Hygienists to Administer Nitrous Oxide

Mr. Garballey of Arlington moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:

"SECTION XX

Section 51 of chapter 112 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the words “local anesthesia agents”, in line 27, the following words:- “and nitrous oxide inhalation analgesia"; and in said section by inserting after the words "by the board", in line 28, the following words:- “A hygienist delivering nitrous oxide inhalation analgesia must have direct supervision by a dentist with a nitrous oxide permit C and follow existing board nitrous oxide regulations in all circumstances.”
