Personal Needs Allowance

Mr. Stanley of Waltham moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 4000-0601, in line 13, by striking out the following: “$72.80” and inserting in place thereof the following: "$100.00 effective January 1, 2027”; and in said item, in line 16, by inserting after "income" the following: "provided further, that the personal needs allowance shall be increased annually thereafter by the percentage change in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) for the Boston-Cambridge-Newton area, as published by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics"; and in said item by striking the figures “$5,197,654,427” and inserting in place thereof the figures “$5,204,154,427”.
